Eric Rowe took on a salty Patriots fan who got tough on Twitter.

Eric Rowe celebrates his 26th birthday on Tuesday. But the Patriots cornerback couldn't go one day without running into a Twitter tough guy.

Get a load of the below Patriots fan who picked an odd time to grow some Twitter muscles. "Catfish Bot Patriots 2-2" replied to a @Patriots tweet wishing a happy birthday to Rowe by ... just completely trashing Rowe out of nowhere.

"[Expletive] Eric Rowe I seen what u did in the SB, trash," said the fan, who added a cute emoji. Rowe, having not tweeted since April, felt the need to quote-tweet this weirdly angry response by, well, encouraging him and everyone else to vent.

Rowe didn't play well in his last game against the Jaguars in Week 2, and he's been out the last two weeks with a groin injury. He didn't play particularly well at the start of Super Bowl LII. But for this fan to be this mad about Eric Rowe being wished a happy birthday ... pretty harsh, if we're being honest.

It's probably best if Rowe just ignores the noise, but that's close to impossible with the ubiquity of technology and social media. Hopefully Rowe is being honest and this one angry fan isn't bothering him. It's really not worth his time.
