Boston Celtics

The Cleveland Cavaliers may have lost both Kyrie Irving and LeBron James in a span of just over a calendar year, but center Tristan Thompson feels the need to remind everybody that the East still runs through the Cavaliers.

“We’re still four-time Eastern Conference champions, so until you take us down from that, teams ain’t got much to say,” Thompson said Thursday. “Boston, Philly, they ain’t got much to say. Boston had home court in Game 7 and lost. Philly, you guys almost got swept. Toronto — we already know that story.

“So, until someone takes us down, there’s not much they can really say.”

This chirp thrown Boston’s way, naturally, got back to the Celtics’ Marcus Morris.

The most vocal presence on what’s been called the ‘Bench With Attitude,’ Morris had a run-in with Thompson during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals when the forever-feisty Morris straight-up screamed in Thompson’s face.

Morris gets his first chance to scream in Thompson’s face when the Celtics and Cavs meet on Nov. 30 at TD Garden.
