New England Patriots

Patriots cornerback Eric Rowe was not present at the start of practice on Thursday at the lower practice field outside Gillette Stadium. However, Rowe was the only player absent. He was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday with a groin injury, which held him out of Sunday night’s 26-10 loss to the Detroit Lions.

In better news for the Patriots, defensive end Trey Flowers and safety Patrick Chung both appeared at practice for the second straight day. The way they moved around in warmups suggested that they’ll also be limited for the second practice in a row, but nothing’s official there. They both look like they’re on track to return on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

More notes from Patriots practice:

— Tom Brady stopped and had a brief talk with Bill Belichick in the middle of warmups. Didn’t look too animated and there’s probably not much to read into there, but that doesn’t happen all the time.

— The team’s three newest additions were all present: RB Kenjon Barner (No. 38), DB David Jones (No. 39), and LB John Simon (No. 55). Barner is back after the Patriots briefly released him last week.

— Receiver Josh Gordon warmed up and took part in early drills with the receivers. He was limited on Wednesday with a hamstring injury; it’s unclear whether he’s made progress in that department.

Next injury report comes out later on Thursday afternoon.
