Boston Bruins

Taking it back outdoors to Indiana’s Notre Dame Stadium for a New Year’s Day head-to-head with the Chicago Blackhawks this upcoming season, the Boston Bruins are keeping it simple with their 2019 Winter Classic logo.

And taking it all the way back to the 1930s in the process.

Following the passing of Milt Schmidt in Jan. 2017, this simplified logo was always the Bruins’ best choice, to be honest.

As a tribute to the Schmidt Era, going with this Big B also allows the Bruins to go with a true ‘throwback’ without including the classic-looking bear that the team went with for the 2016 Winter Classic at Gillette Stadium. Going with the ‘B’ also allows for the Bruins to incorporate more rich gold in their sleeves, if they so choose, which would go incredibly well with the whole ‘Notre Dame’ theme (even if they are considered the away team for this game).

This will be the third time that the Bruins have been involved in the Winter Classic.

They defeated the Flyers in overtime in the 2010 Winter Classic at Fenway Park, and got their heads kicked in by the Canadiens in the aforementioned 2016 contest at Gillette.
