The Boston Bruins changed the start time for four of their 41 regular-season games at TD Garden next season, the team confirmed in a Wednesday press release.
The first one changed was the club’s Monday, Jan. 14 head-to-head against the Montreal Canadiens. The game, originally scheduled for 7 p.m., has been changed to a 7:30 p.m. start. This reflects a likely move to NBC Sports Network, which prefers to have their weeknight hockey games begin at 7:30 p.m. so they can run their preview show.
The Bruins did the same with their Thurs., Feb. 28 game against the Lightning. This is probably for the same reason, really, as this game is a rematch of last year’s Atlantic Division Finals meeting between the East’s top two teams.
Boston’s game vs. Florida on Sat., Mar. 30, meanwhile, has been changed from a 7 p.m. start to a 1 p.m. start.
It’s not the only late-season head-to-head with a Sunshine State team changed, either, as the B’s game vs. Tampa Bay on Sat., Apr. 6, was also changed from a 12:30 p.m. start to a 1 p.m. start.
The Bruins are coming off a 50-win season, and will kick off their 2018-19 season Oct. 3 against the Washington Capitals.
All Boston Bruins games can be heard on 98.5 The Sports Hub.
