For the second time in less than three weeks, Boston Red Sox ace Chris Sale is making his way to the disabled list.

And to make matters worse, it's with the same left shoulder inflammation issue that landed the Boston No. 1 starter and American League Cy Young favorite on it the last time around.

The 29-year-old Sale missed over two weeks of action on his previous disabled list stint, but appeared to be alright when he returned with a 12-strikeout performance in a five-inning win over the Baltimore Orioles last Sunday.

Sale has been downright incredible for the Red Sox this season, with a 12-4 record, 1.97 ERA, and 219 strikeouts over just 146 innings, while opponents are hitting just .175 against him this season.

At this point, it's unclear where the Red Sox will go from here, and how they will manage Sale upon his expected return to the club for the stretch run. But with Sale out, the Red Sox have recalled Brandon Workman from Triple-A Pawtucket.
