The Boston Celtics have traded forward Abdel Nader and cash considerations to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for guard Rodney Purvis, the team announced Monday night.

Nader, who was waived on Saturday, played in 48 games (one start) during his rookie season with the Celtics in 2017-18, and averaged 3.0 points and 1.5 rebounds in 10.9 minutes per contest.

The 6-foot-6 Nader, a native of Egypt that played his college basketball with Iowa State, was drafted with the 58th overall pick in 2016.

In Purvis, the Celtics are getting yet another guard, but one that can bring some versatility at 6-foot-4.

An undrafted talent out of UConn, the 24-year-old Purvis played in 16 games for the Orlando Magic last season. With the Magic, Purvis averaged 6.0 points per game and shot 32.7 percent from the field. Purvis was a much more effective player for the Lakeland Magic of the G League, with 20.5 points per game (13th-most in the G League) in 39 games played.
