Celtics legend Bill Russell did what a lot of people would dream to be able to do to Charles Barkley.

Charles Barkley has always been one of the most outspoken figures in the NBA. So naturally, you'd think there's a lot of people out there who would like to simply give him the middle finger for his many controversial takes over the years.

Boston Celtics legend Bill Russell just lived the dream for millions of fans.

Watch below as Barkley gives a rather respectful shout-out to Russell during his presentation of the NBA's Lifetime Achievement Award, which actually went to Oscar Robertson. But instinct took over as the camera flipped to Russell, who instantly created an all-timer of a meme as his flipped Barkley the bird:

Russell himself weighed in on Twitter later in the night:

The only thing that would have made it better is if he had one of his 11 championship rings on his middle finger at the time.
