The New England Patriots have officially signed 2018 first-round pick Isaiah Wynn to an NFL contract.
Drafted by the Patriots with the 23rd overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft, the 6-foot-2, 302-pounder played both guard and tackle during his college career at the University of Georgia. As a senior in 2017, Wynn was named a team captain and started all 15 games he played at left tackle for the Bulldogs and was named to the 2017 Associated Press All-America Second Team.
The 22-year-old Wynn is a ‘natural’ according to former Georgia teammate and now Patriots teammate David Andrews.
“I knew Isaiah would be a good player coming in, just watching him,” Andrews said. “He’s very natural and stuff like that. And then we kept in touch at Georgia, you know. We had a big group message with a bunch of linemen, so he was always in there.”
Per team rules, the terms of the contract were not announced.
With Wynn signed, fellow 2018 first-round pick Sony Michel is the only member of the team’s 2018 draft class left unsigned.
