The Boston Red Sox scored two runs in the top of the 12th inning to secure a win over the Baltimore Orioles in the series opener at Camden Yards on Monday. Both runs came via sacrifice flies by Brock Holt and Jackie Bradley Jr.

Pitching ruled the night for both teams, with the Red Sox ultimately prevailing. Steven Wright pitched 6.2 scoreless innings with four hits and three walks, while five different relievers combined to complete the 12-inning shutout.

Craig Kimbrel struck out three batters while mixing in a walk to secure his 21st save in the victory.

Red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts returned to the lineup after missing 14 games with an abdominal injury, going 1-for-5. He was removed in the 11th inning for precautionary reasons, and hopes to play on Tuesday.

Up Next: The Red Sox and Orioles continue their series on Tuesday in Baltimore, with Eduardo Rodriguez (7-1, 3.68 ERA) taking on David Hess (2-2, 3.07 ERA).
