Someone over at ProFootballTalk.com is throwing out one helluva conspiracy theory about the New England Patriots, Julian Edelman and GOAT, Tom Brady.
According to a recent ProFootballTalk tweet, “CONSPIRACY THEORY: The Patriots leaked the looming Edelman suspension to ESPN to put pressure on #Tommy [Brady] to show up for the rest of OTAs and work with other receivers.”
This is unbelievable!
Why in the world would the Patriots and/or Bill Belichick throw their own guy under the bus like that?
They would NEVER do such a thing like that. – RIGHT? – Or Maybe they would?…
Yet from the sounds of it, Brady will NOT be in attendance at the Patriots’ remaining voluntary OTA sessions next week in Foxboro, according to Scott Zolak of 98.5 The Sports Hub.
So whoever came up with this master plan to force Brady’s hand is wicked soft and epically failed in the process because the five-time Super Bowl champion still doesn’t give a rat’s ass about showing up to the final four practices leading into training camp, which opens in late July.
Plus it’s even more evident that Brady doesn’t care because he missed the first five of the offseason and will continue to miss the rest of team preparations heading into camp.
And now in the end, Edelman could miss four regular season games following a violation of the NFL performance-enhancing substance policy, according to multiple reports.
So it this theory proves true, the Patriots have an even bigger issue than missing Edelman. It’s how do we get our franchise quarterback back on the ship to go try to win another championship?
Okay so you could argue that a guy like Brady doesn’t need to practice because he’s damn good.
But either way with Edelman potentially missing time and Brady skipping out on practice, the new plethora of receivers here in New England are sitting and waiting for their chance to work with their new leader.
Hopefully they’re patient, because they’ll be stuck waiting another month or so to get in some reps with the future Hall of Famer.
But time is ticking for Brady to build relationships with his new receiving corp of Jordan Matthews, Braxton Berrios, Riley McCarron and amongst others.
So LFG, Brady! It’s time to practice dude.
