Benintendi, Vazquez's Clutch Homers Power Red Sox Past Astros 5-4

Christian Vazquez and Andrew Benintendi launched a pair of clutch home runs in the seventh inning as the Boston Red Sox scored their first win of the season against the Houston Astros, besting the defending World Series champions 5-4 at Minute Maid Park.

Benintendi's hot streak in May has carried over to June. The outfielder is slashing .364/.448/.705 with seven home runs and 23 RBIs in his last 23 games, dating back to May 9.

He crushed a Will Harris fastball into the second deck in right field to put the Red Sox on top 5-3. The blast came two batters after Vazquez tied the game 3-3 with a solo shot of his own.

David Price continued his solid recent run with three earned runs in six innings, striking out seven to earn his sixth win on the season. He's 4-0 with a 2.87 ERA in his last five outings, and the Red Sox are 5-0 in those games.

Up Next: The Red Sox will look to earn a split in the four-game series with the Astros in the series finale on Sunday. Rick Porcello (7-2, 3.65 ERA) takes on Charlie Morton (7-0, 2.26 ERA).
