Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox belted two more home runs and Rick Porcello picked up his seventh win of the young season as Boston beat the Toronto Blue Jays for the second straight game, by the same 8-3 score, at Fenway Park on Tuesday.

Porcello battled through 6.2 innings and allowed three runs (two earned), striking out five in the win to move to 7-2 on the season. His ERA so far sits at a solid 3.65.

Xander Bogaerts broke out of a 2-for-11 mini-slump with his eighth home run of the season, a rocket over the Green Mosnter seats and out of the park. He’s batting just .213 in May, but has gone deep five times.

Sandy Leon also homered for the Red Sox, upping his May batting average to .361 in 36 at-bats.

In total, the Red Sox are up to 80 home runs on the season, second only to the Yankees (87) in the major leagues.

Up Next: The series concludes at Fenway on Wednesday, with Eduardo Rodriguez (5-1, 4.02 ERA) taking on Sam Gaviglio (2-0, 2.30 ERA).
