Following Wednesday’s Game 5 win over the Philadelphia 76ers in the semifinals, the Boston Celtics will now face LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals of the NBA Playoffs for the second consecutive year.
This season Boston and Cleveland met three times, with the Cavs taking the season-series, 2-1.
The Cavaliers took the season opener in Cleveland, 102-99. Then they split in Boston, with the Celtics taking the second and the Cavs winning their final matchup in blowout fashion on ‘Paul Pierce Night‘ in mid-February.
King James and the Cavs beat the Celtics by an average of 12.5 points between their two wins. Whereas the Celtics won by 14 in their only win of the season-series.
Here’s what the upcoming schedule against the Cavaliers looks like:
• Game 1 in Boston on Sunday, May 13 @ 3:30 p.m.
• Game 2 in Boston on Tuesday, May 15 @ 8:30 p.m.
• Game 3 in Cleveland on Saturday, May 19 @ 8:30 p.m.
• Game 4 in Cleveland on Monday, May 21 @ 8:30 p.m.
• Game 5 in Boston on Wednesday, May 23 @ 8:30 p.m. – *If Needed*
• Game 6 in Cleveland on Friday, May 25 @ 8:30 p.m. – *If Needed*
• Game 7 in Boston on Sunday, May 27 @ 8:30 p.m. – *If Needed*
#AdvantageCeltics: Celts – Cavs By The Numbers Heading Into East Finals
Game 1 of Celtics and Cavaliers will tip-off on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m., with the C’s holding home-court advantage for the best-of-seven series.
Then over in the Western Conference Finals, we have the #1 Houston Rockets going up against the defending champions, #2 Golden State Warriors.
More On The NBA Playoffs:
Game 1 of the NBA Finals is scheduled for May 31 with a Game 7 on June 17 if necessary.
