Rick Porcello Dominant As He Moves To 5-0 In Red Sox’ 5-1 Win Over Rangers

Porcello is pitching like his 2016 Cy Young season so far.

Rick Porcello continued his dominant start to the 2018 season with another strong outing on Friday night against the Rangers, moving to 5-0 in the Boston Red Sox' 5-1 win in Arlington.

Porcello pitched six innings, allowing just one run on three hits and one walk while striking out eight. His lone blemish was a solo home run by Nomar Mazara in the fourth inning.

The 2016 Cy Young winner is now 5-0 on the young season with a 2.14 ERA, which ties him with teammate Chris Sale four seventh-best in the American League.

Mookie Betts also continued his scorching start for the Red Sox, homering for the fifth time in his last three games. He now has 13 bombs on the season, which leads the majors. He also leads all of baseball with a .365 batting average and a massive 1.298 OPS.

Up Next: The Red Sox (23-9) will look to beat the Rangers again on Saturday night, with Eduardo Rodriguez (3-0, 4.78 ERA) going up against Cole Hamels (1-4, 4.08 ERA).
