The Boston Red Sox improved their major-league-best record to 16-2 on Thursday night as they beat the Los Angeles Angels 8-2 to complete a three-game series sweep in Anaheim.

Mookie Betts homered again for the Red Sox, launching his sixth of the season to lead off the game against Angels starter Nick Tropeano. Andrew Benintendi also hit a home run, his first of 2018.

Rafael Devers finished 3-for-4 with two RBI singles. He upped his batting average to .300 on the season. The 21-year-old third baseman is up to 17 RBIs in as many games.

Eduardo Rodriguez (W, 2-0) gave up two runs on three hits and three walks in six innings to earn his second victory of the season, striking out five.
