The Boston Red Sox announced on Monday that Bogaerts is headed to the 10-day disabled list due to a "small crack" in the talus bone of his left ankle. The shortstop is expected to be be out 10-14 days with the injury, which was non-displaced and won't require surgery.
Bogaerts sustained the injury while chasing a loose ball near the Rays dugout. After making an errant throw to third base, Bogaerts slid and landed into the dugout and got back up, but quickly needed to be checked for an injury.
