Donato executed a perfect give-and-go with Torey Krug to net his first as a pro. Leading a 2-on-2 rush into the Blue Jackets' zone, Donato waited and passed back to the trailer Krug, who quickly fed it back to Donato below the faceoff dot for the one-timer. The 21-year-old showed off his powerful shot on the goal, hopefully the first of many for him at the NHL level.
His shot is certainly NHL-ready, and could lead to more goals down the stretch for the Bruins if he continues to play the way he looked in the first two periods of his NHL career.
Donato also grabbed his first career assist on Riley Nash's second-period goal. The Bruins led the Blue Jackets 3-2 after two frames on Monday.
