Watch above as newly signed Red Sox slugger J.D. Martinez arrives in Fort Myers for his first day of spring training with his new team on Wednesday morning. Butch Stearns of Boston 25 News captured the clip of Martinez making his first entrance to the team facilities.

More is still to come, including Martinez's first meeting with reporters and the first glimpse of him in his Red Sox uniform. Martinez will reportedly wear No. 28 - which means that manager Alex Cora has to switch his jersey number to 20.

Also reported on Wednesday: according to a contract breakdown by NBC Sports Boston's Evan Drellich, Martinez can earn $50 million in his first two seasons - if he decides to opt out, which would trigger a $2.5 million buyout. Otherwise, he will earn $23.75 million in each of the first three seasons, and $19.35 million in each of the final two.
