Ex-Patriot LeGarrette Blount In ‘Straight Enemy Mode’ For Super Bowl LII
LeGarrette Blount still has plenty of friends on the Patriots. But for the Super Bowl, he’s activating “straight enemy mode.”

Respectfully drawing battle lines between himself and New England, Blount said his usually active text conversations with the remaining Patriots running backs has slowed considerably. To the point where they're not really acting like buddies until after the Super Bowl.
"Straight enemy mode," said Blount. "Ain't no friends. No homies, none of that. We know what we're going to do. They know what they're going to do. We've got the same goal in mind. It ain't no hard feelings, it just is what it is."
WATCH: LeGarrette Blount 'Enemy Mode' Comments:
Blount rushed for 766 yards on 173 carries and scored three total touchdowns in his first season with the Eagles. His 4.4 yards per rush was his highest average since 2014 with the Patriots.
The ex-Patriots hasn't been quite as productive in terms of yardage in the postseason. He's rushed 15 times for just 40 yards, but he has scored a pair of rushing touchdowns.

Blount has the right mentality ahead of his matchup against the Patriots. And if anyone on the Eagles knows what it's going to take for Philadelphia to pull the upset, it's him. He played 49 games in four seasons in a Patriots uniform, plus eight playoff games.
However, Blount's performance in this Super Bowl will certainly have to be better than his two Super Bowls with the Pats. If he wants to help the Eagles, he'll want to do better than his 25 carries for 71 yards, no touchdowns, and a lost fumble.
In any event, Blount can't be friendly to play his best football anyway. These comments are fine. But he's definitely going to want to be better than the last time Patriots fans saw him.
