Boston Bruins

With Bruins vs. Panthers rescheduled for Sunday, April 8, Bruins and Celtics fans will have to change their plans for that day. The B’s game originally planned for Jan. 4 is now moved to the end of the season.

As a result of Bruins-Panthers moving to April 8, the Celtics will now play their game that day against the Atlanta Hawks at 1 p.m. The Bruins and Panthers will drop the puck that night at 7:30.

“On behalf of the Boston Bruins I would like to thank Boston Celtics President Rich Gotham, as well as the Celtics organization, Atlanta Hawks, NBA and TD Garden for their flexibility moving the previously scheduled Celtics game on April 8th to a matinee,” said Bruins President Cam Neely in a press release. “We are grateful for the flexibility and cooperation of all of these groups which made it possible for the NHL to reschedule our game against the Panthers to the evening of the April 8th.”

Bruins vs. Panthers Rescheduled: What Else To Know

The “bomb-cyclone” storm that battered much of New England caused the Bruins to cancel that evening’s game against the Panthers. That’s despite the fact that both teams and the officials already made it to Mass.

As a result of the resuffling, the April 8 game will represent the final contest of the regular season for the B’s. In an unusual circumstance, the Bruins and Panthers don’t play each other for the first time until March 15 in Sunrise, Fla.

Boston swept the season series over Florida in 2016-17, going a perfect 5-0.
