Johnson Bademosi had a chance to draw an easy flag on the Jets. But instead, he had perhaps the flop of the year.

The Patriots cornerback committed the hilariously egregious flop during the second half of the Pats' 26-6 win over the Jets on Sunday. After Jets receiver Robby Anderson made a catch out of bounds, he spiked the ball. Directly in Bademosi's face.

And that's when he put on the performance of a lifetime:

Patriots safety Duron Harmon called it the "flop of the year" in the locker room after the game. On top of that, the Boston Herald's Jeff Howe tweeted that Bademosi's Patriots teammates laughed hysterically at the replays.

As you'd expect, Twitter took notice of the moment.

Johnson Bademosi: Twitter Reacts...

Bademosi also tried to explain himself to WBZ-TV's Steve Burton after the game:

In the pantheon of sports flopping, this is simply a tour de force performance for Bademosi. An instant classic. But obviously, it's not a big deal for him or the Patriots at the end of the day. Just an amusing moment in a solid win. He took his shot at a flag and missed. His teammates certainly had a lot of fun with it.

To be certain, this is not a highlight Bademosi wanted to be a part of his career. But in any event he just made his mark on flopping history. To the point that Deadspin threw the word "Cheat" into their headline. And after a solid debut for James Harrison, this is probably far from the end of people complaining about the Patriots.
